The Lyublinsky District Court, represented by Judge Lebedev, has just ruled that the decision to block this blog was lawful: http://navalny.livejournal.com/

As an example of a phrase for which a website in Russia should be blocked, a representative of Roskomnadzor (Russia’s state media and internet regulator) cited "This is not an anti-war rally — it is a march against lawlessness," claiming that this was "evidence of calls for mass unrest".

The phrase apparently comes from this post, which, incidentally, was written after the block had already been imposed.

One of the key goals of this hearing was to determine exactly which posts had to be deleted in order for the blog to be unblocked. It was obvious that Judge Lebedev’s main goal was to prevent that from being established.

He dismissed the question, "What needs to be done for the blog to be unblocked?" as irrelevant to the case.

I myself was unable to attend the hearing or speak there — the Investigative Committee did not allow the Federal Penitentiary Service to bring me to court.

So, in short, I can’t say we really expected the "court" to make a lawful decision, but the extent to which they all ignore even empty formalities and basic decency once again shows that it is worth taking a few technical steps so that you can read online what you want to read.

There will be many more blocks ahead.
