Vladlen I_am_bitter Stepanov, who once won 100,000 rubles from me in court over this post with a video, has finally ended up on the "Magnitsky List" (U.S. sanctions related to the Sergei Magnitsky case).

This is good news, but it is also a rather shameful story for our country: the crooks who killed a Russian citizen and stole 5.4 billion rubles from Russian citizens are being pursued by the Americans, not by our own "law enforcement agencies."

Quite the opposite, in fact: the Investigative Committee, the FSB, and the courts did everything they could to shield the former tax official who was siphoning billions from the budget from any criminal investigation, and when the scandal became truly enormous, she simply left the country.

Together with my Vladlen, they're somewhere drinking cocktails right now and sending their regards to all the patriots wearing St. George ribbons (a Russian military remembrance and nationalist symbol).

Even so, although it was the Americans who did it, this is a small step toward having their Swiss bank accounts and assorted villas in the UAE seized and sold, with the money returned to those it was stolen from—the people of the Russian Federation.
