Maxim Liksutov, the offshore official, together with Sobyanin’s whole gang, thought for several hours and came up with his response in the form of a Facebook post visible only to friends (!!):

This response might have been laughable, if it did not reflect the full extent of their contempt for Muscovites, public opinion, and the law in general.

Got caught in 2014 with an undeclared offshore company? Just say you sold it back in 2010, and that’s that! The lawyers simply never finalized the paperwork.

A neat universal formula for all officials with foreign assets. You can own them until you get caught, and then say, "sold it ages ago, the paperwork just wasn’t completed." Anything from a bank account to a villa in Cannes. - Is it yours? - No, it’s not mine. That’s my name, yes, but I sold it long ago. The lawyers just didn’t finish the paperwork; they’ll sort it out now.

And that’s it. No problems at all with all that so-called "anti-corruption" business.

In essence: of course Liksutov is lying through his teeth. As usual. Let me remind you that he already told us: "I have never in my life had any offshore companies; all my business was transparent, straightforward, and I never concealed what assets I owned."

After that, we found SO MANY offshore companies linked to him that one can only marvel at why he lies so brazenly.

In his response, Liksutov writes that in 2010, "the liquidation process had begun" for "Intellectico." Well then, let’s take a look together at Intellectico’s records:

Quite a liquidation job they did in 2010, considering that in **2012** the offshore company was filing documents to change one of its nominee shareholders and its director:

Director:

Shareholder:

Now let’s see what happened in 2010: No changes whatsoever were made to the shareholder list in 2010.

Apparently, the lawyers did not just "forget" to complete the paperwork, but also, in their absent-mindedness, prepared and filed reports and even paid for them themselves.

Shame on you, Mr. Sobyanin and Mr. Liksutov. You really should be ashamed of yourselves.

I urge everyone to keep acting as we suggest in the post.

And as for Liksutov, I’m giving him a universal image he can post on Facebook in response to any corruption allegations—so he won’t have to come up with new posts every time.
