The Levada Center (an independent Russian polling organization) has published some striking data. These are new surveys on the "media landscape"—the reach of different media outlets, sources of information, and so on.
You can see the depressingly strong position of the TV zombie box:
Once again, you can see why Putin’s approval rating never drops below 50%, and actually rises during periods of whipped-up propaganda hysteria:
You can learn that nobody reads either magazines or newspapers:
And be surprised by the high traffic figures for our RosYama:
But the most astonishing and surprising thing of all (at least for me) is this data:
Some "My World on Mail.ru"—13% in Moscow!
I’d heard the name, of course, but I was always convinced it was basically a fake social network used purely to fool investors.
I have never once in my life met a single real person who had an account on "My World on Mail.ru." And yet it turns out there are more of them than LiveJournal readers (7% in Moscow). Even allowing for the poll’s margin of error, it’s still surprising.
You live and learn. Is there anyone here with a "My World" account? Speak up and tell us how you ended up there.
