House arrest for Konstantin Yankauskas, who is accused of stealing money from some unclear party that was transferred to my election campaign, has been extended until October 17.
More than ten Moscow municipal deputies came to Konstantin’s court hearing, ready to vouch for him, but this made no impression on the court. Quite the opposite: the main reason given for keeping him under arrest was that "he is a deputy, which means he has extensive connections and therefore may be able to influence the course of the investigation."
Yankauskas has been under arrest for almost 40 days already, and during that time no investigative actions have been carried out involving him. He is being kept at home so he stays out of the election and does not ask inconvenient questions.
