So, Anna Veduta had her last day at work yesterday. She is leaving us to study at Columbia University.

On my own behalf, and on behalf of our entire Anti-Corruption Foundation, the Progress Party, and all our other organizations, I want to thank Anya for her excellent work—at times even self-sacrificing. She is not only a true professional, but also someone deeply committed to the cause. This is where I should probably write, “we’ll miss her,” but you can’t get rid of Veduta that easily—she promises to remain an active volunteer with the ACF. Hopefully not at the expense of her studies.

We’ll wait for Anya to finish her studies, and then—just wait.

Taking over as press secretary—both mine and the ACF’s—is Kira Yarmysh, whom I’m very pleased to introduce to you. And to answer the obvious question right away: yes, it was important to us that our press secretary have a strange last name.

Kira graduated from the Faculty of International Journalism at MGIMO (the Moscow State Institute of International Relations). Notably, she got in not through connections, but by winning the TV academic competition *Umniki i Umnitsy* (“Clever Ones and Smart Girls”). After university, she worked in the press offices of the Pushkin Museum and the UTair airline. A year ago, she also helped as a volunteer during the mayoral campaign.

Kira is passionate about 20th-century American literature, British TV series, and Early Renaissance art (she wrote “Proto-Renaissance,” but I decided that was a bit much).

Yes, yes, you understood correctly—she’s a nerd. But nerds hate corruption too. So she’s come to fight it. Please welcome her.

Here are her social media accounts: Facebook, VKontakte, Twitter. Follow her.

P.S. Kira’s interview with Yod.
