Saltykov-Shchedrin would have been pleased: those in power are doing an excellent job of "keeping the people in a state of constant astonishment".

Just look at this, we’ve got a new urbanist here:

Here’s what this “urbanist” tells us:

...

Urbanism as a field of city planning has existed for a hundred years. Hundreds of books. Thousands of specialists around the world, all perfectly available to be hired for the Moscow Region—especially compared with such exotic expenses as interactive maps at bus stops and branding for 15 million rubles.

And yet the chief “urbanist” of Russia’s second-most populous federal subject turns out to be the 26-year-old little son of the Prosecutor General, who has "long been interested in urbanism" and "even has a business in that area".

I strongly recommend reflecting on the news that the Prosecutor General’s son is now “urbanizing” the Moscow Region after also reading Vedomosti’s investigation, Who Is Privatizing the Forests on Rublyovka—and How.

It has everyone: Governor Vorobyov, Governor Vorobyov’s father, the Shoigu family, Shoigu’s friends, Kucherena, and Chernomyrdin’s children. In short, it’s the full urbanism package—and the Prosecutor General’s son will clearly come in handy there too.
