Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council (the upper house of Russia’s parliament), owns apartments in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as a dacha in the Moscow region. The apartments are estimated to be worth about 42 million and 32 million rubles respectively, and the dacha about 116 million rubles.
Matviyenko has spent her entire life in government service. According to official disclosures, she and her husband earned 16.6 million rubles over the past five years.
