Dmitry Ishevsky, who was arrested in connection with the "Bolotnaya case" (the criminal case over the 2012 Bolotnaya Square protest in Moscow), has just been sentenced to 3 years and 2 months in a penal colony. And that is with the case being heard under a "special procedure"—that is, with an admission of guilt and, presumably, a lighter sentence as a result.

It is hard not to recall that just the other day, one of the supposed "victims" in this case, Igor Tarasov (the case materials state that during the rally someone "pulled his arm"), was himself convicted under the very same article.

Former OMON riot police officer Igor Tarasov, while drunk, beat and insulted a police officer. The sentence was harsh: a fine of 35,000 rubles.

It feels as though these sentences are being handed down not merely under different laws, for different kinds of people, and in different countries, but on entirely different planets.
