In the Twitter comments on the video, people have been passing around a link to Bershidsky’s column, “Why Putin Feels the Urge to Say Something to Foreigners About Reproductive Organs.”
I thought: wow, Leonid really moves fast. He’s already dashed off a column and gotten it published in *Vedomosti* (a Russian business daily). Then I looked more closely: it was from June 2006.
Ten years have passed.
Putin is still, with the same swagger, telling foreigners about his grandmother’s male genitalia, and Bershidsky’s closing question in the column (Maybe we should first at least learn how to invest the windfall oil revenues wisely?) is still just as relevant.
