If anyone reading this is from Yaroslavl, come to the rally in support of mayoral elections—they’re planning to abolish them in your city.
It’s absolutely disgraceful—a month ago, Yaroslavl’s United Russia party adopted a resolution supporting direct elections, and now they’ve received new instructions from Moscow and have suddenly “changed their minds.”
The local bosses are ready to do anything, as long as the Kremlin doesn’t notice the townhouses on Novaya Riga (an upscale area outside Moscow), “bought at a discount”.
Can you choose your own mayor? Of course you can. So come out and defend your right to do so.
