Yesterday morning, they published an article dashed off by Medvedev, apparently to deliver the main message occupying the minds of the Kremlin’s inhabitants entirely: everything is bad in Ukraine, GDP will collapse, exports will fall, and so on.

Ukraine’s economy really is in bad shape, but yesterday the following events were also recorded:

Judging by the current trading dynamics on the stock and currency markets (there’s no point in citing specific figures; everything is changing too quickly), none of this helped much.

And the explanation is simple: when the main idea behind a country’s domestic and foreign policy is not "to solve its own problems" but "to get revenge on the khokhols" (a derogatory slur for Ukrainians), then when you swing a club, you may lose your balance as well.

Everything they worked for, took pride in, and boasted about has come crashing down faster than the fastest jack-in-the-box:
