We spent several days just trying to find out why Roskomnadzor (Russia’s federal media and communications regulator) had blocked navalny.com.

It turned out not to be such a simple task. Media outlets called them, we sent our own inquiries, appealed the block in court — silence. And then, finally, just a few minutes ago, we received a response from RKN.

So, the Prosecutor General’s Office order to block the blog is dated December 22, but today they are telling us that the most prohibited information was contained in the post "About January 15 and More Generally", which I wrote on January 12, this past Monday.

We have removed that post from the site anyway (everyone who wanted to read it already did), and we will now notify Roskomnadzor about it. We’ll see what happens next.

Today we also got news that a complaint has been filed with the ECHR (European Court of Human Rights) over the blocking of my LiveJournal, which was blocked not because of any specific post, but simply in general — "because I was writing the wrong way."
