Take a look at this house belonging to a belligerent United Russia party member: if this really is 96 square meters (1,033 square feet), as he claims, then I’ll admit that “Anti-Maidan” is right about everything.

Let’s sum up everything we’ve learned over the past couple of days about the newly minted leader of the “Anti-Maidan” movement, which “will gather 10,000 people, train them in camps, andbreak up opposition protests.”

1. The military side of the biography of Mr. Sablin, who runs an outfit called “Combat Brotherhood”: a) graduated from a military academy in Moscow; b) served for several years in the commandant’s regiment in Moscow; c) worked for several years at EMERCOM (Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations) in Moscow; d) married a governor’s niece and became a State Duma deputy; e) now he’s taking it easy in the Federation Council.

2. The property side of “Anti-Maidan” activist Sablin’s biography: a) an official income of 2 million rubles didn’t stop him from acquiring this modest house outside Moscow, where real estate prices aren’t just crazy—they’re astronomical.

b) in the best traditions of United Russia, this “Anti-Maidan” member did not declare the house—only the land appears in his disclosure. And in interviews, he brazenly lies about the house.

The disclosure does list a house with an area of 96 square meters (1,033 square feet), but if you look at what’s shown in the photos and call that 96 meters, then everything we know about the space around us is false, and United Russia members have learned to build their palaces using the fifth and sixth dimensions.

The Anti-Corruption Foundation is sending a letter to the Federation Council demanding that it acknowledge Senator Sablin’s filing of a false property declaration.

The intellectual side of “Anti-Maidan” activist Sablin’s biography:

Having “Candidate of Economic Sciences” (roughly equivalent to a PhD) in one’s biography is certainly nice, but, as Dissernet reported today, Sablin’s dissertation was stolen. He is a plagiarist.

A total of 40 pages of other people’s text were stolen. The dissertation council where he defended it is an absolute dump: according to Dissernet, 45 people bought their degrees there.

I understand that the Kremlin has a staffing shortage, but still, if you’re practically announcing the creation of “death squads,” it would make sense to find a better candidate. Otherwise, even the members of the “Anti-Maidan” organization may feel a little awkward when asked: just how many square meters are there in this picture?

Update:

Senator Sablin was asked where he got a house the size of a hectare (10,000 square meters / 2.47 acres). He replied:

But that isn’t true either. You can read more from Zhora, who is continuing his investigation here: http://alburov.ru/2015/01/sablin2/
