Hi everyone, this is Leonid Volkov. I’ve taken over this journal since Navalny has been arrested again.

I’m helping organize the anti-crisis Spring march, which will take place on March 1 at 2:00 p.m. in Maryino.

Why it’s in Maryino, what kind of march this is, and everything else—I’ve explained in detail on my LiveJournal, and you can also argue with me there and tell me how we’re doing everything wrong and sabotaging the protest.

And here is a short organizational post for those who understand why public mass events are the most effective way to put pressure on the authorities, want to take part in the Spring march, and want to help us make it as good as possible.

We’re raising money to prepare the march. The Spring march website has buttons for donations via PayPal and Yandex.Money.

One leaflet costs 60 kopecks. One contact with a potential supporter on social media costs about 20 kopecks. We have already printed 500,000 leaflets and invested about 300,000 rubles in advertising on Facebook and Google AdWords.

If we raise 2 million rubles, we’ll be able to triple our reach. If we raise 3 million rubles, we’ll also run an ad campaign on Echo of Moscow (a major Russian radio station), with 150 spots of 20 seconds each. If we raise 5 million rubles, we’ll use paid distributors to deliver an additional 1.5 million leaflets to mailboxes—that’s half of Moscow.

We are recruiting and training volunteers for street outreach and leaflet distribution in the metro. We have registered street information pickets for every day from tomorrow through February 28; at these pickets we will hand out leaflets listing the march’s demands and calling on people to attend; now that the march has been officially approved, this can be done without any restrictions. Volunteer trainings are held daily at the ACF office; The first meeting will be led by Kolya Lyaskin tomorrow at 12:30.

To help us as a volunteer handing out leaflets at information pickets and in the metro, sign up using this form.

We need your help spreading the word among supporters through social media. Post on all your social networks that you are going to the Spring march, share a link to the march website (http://vesna.today), and most importantly, invite all your friends and acquaintances to the Facebook page for the march in your city.

The march website has links to the pages for all the cities that have already joined the march. Here is the Moscow march page.

Spring is coming—make way for Spring!
