Some people don’t understand why the hell all these music performers take such an active part in exotic campaigns like “Anti-Maidan” (a pro-Kremlin movement opposing Ukraine’s Maidan protests).
Here’s why:
Then singer Vika Tsyganova appeared out of nowhere, spoke at the rally, and talked about the sinister plans of the “fifth column”.
That was on February 21, 2015.
And the day before that, on February 20, 2015, the municipal administration of Peterhof used a “single-supplier procurement” procedure and bought tickets to a concert by the “Anti-Maidan” singer Tsyganova with public budget funds, spending 1.3 million rubles.
Peterhof’s annual budget is 300 million rubles, so Vika Tsyganova received 0.4% of the city’s yearly budget.
It may not seem like much, but, for example, according to local residents, this pothole in one of the city’s courtyards has been there for 30 years—ever since the building was constructed.
So Peterhof clearly has better ways to spend its money. I don’t think supporting Vika Tsyganova and “Anti-Maidan” is more important.
