This image shows: 1) Alexander Zharov, the head of Roskomnadzor (Russia’s federal media and communications regulator), who is responsible for censorship in our country, and 2) the cost of an 18-day vacation in the city of Sochi for official Zharov’s family.

That is, 3.19 million rubles for 18 days — this is how ministers vacation. We learned about this today thanks to Anonymous International.

I can’t even tell what is more astonishing: how a hotel in Sochi can cost such insane money, or how official Zharov is not embarrassed at all — after all, plenty of people will see him staying in a room that expensive. We are used to the familiar picture of them living it up and throwing money around abroad, while pretending to be modest back in Russia. Apparently, that period is over, and now there is nothing to be ashamed of.

And of course, it is easy to find what is always found around civil servants vacationing in hotels like these:

the company “STB TOURS,” which arranged official Zharov’s vacation, “won” at least five service contracts from Roskomnadzor, the agency headed by official Zharov.

We will gladly dig into this matter, especially since we often have to deal with the crooks from Roskomnadzor who block our resources. If you know anything about Zharov and his corrupt friendship with “STB TOURS,” write to us via Black Box.

Update:

And also the usual story: Zharov stole 53 pages of his dissertation, in large continuous passages, including the entire conclusion.
