Voting is taking place today in 40 federal subjects, but there is a real election in only one of them — Kostroma Region, where for the first time in many years a genuine opposition party, RPR-PARNAS, is taking part in the party-list vote.

So Churov’s term, “single voting day,” fits very well.

What should you do today?

If you do **NOT** live in Kostroma Region: a) check whether there is a decent single-member district candidate running in your constituency. You can vote for them. b) think about whether you know anyone in Kostroma Region, and if you do, call them and urge them to vote (it’s obvious for whom).

If you live in Kostroma Region: a) make sure to go vote, and vote (it’s obvious for whom). b) call all your friends and acquaintances to make sure they don’t slack off, but go and vote (it’s obvious for whom).

P.S. A live feed of everything happening in the elections in Kostroma Region is here.
