But all in all, I have to admit, it’s not a bad thing. In any poll (including our own), no more than 45–47% of the public recognize me. A significant share of them know me from pieces like this. For everyone else, it’s just a story about some obscure, unknown guy who’s supposedly corrupt.

Say you don’t know Vasechkin. But you keep reading about him: Vasechkin killed his grandmother. On the radio you hear: Vasechkin killed his grandmother. On TV: it was Vasechkin who killed his grandmother.

In that situation, Vasechkin—who never killed his grandmother—would be lucky to get even 2%.

In any case, I’m barred from running anyway, so Vasechkin’s problems are of purely theoretical interest to me.
