It’s unclear how this works: either every lowlife sees that any lawsuit against me can be won (and that this is encouraged), so they’ve all rushed to court, or these little cronies are simply being ordered to run there from the Presidential Administration.
Lately, not a week goes by without someone filing a lawsuit against me demanding money. First MPK with 4 million rubles, then the Yabloko party, then Kirovles, which had been silent for two years “won” its case in a single hearing.
If you add MPK and Kirovles together, I already owe 20.5 million rubles.
It seems to me—going back to the first paragraph—that it’s the second option after all. Which brings me to this:
The lawsuit was filed by Sablin and his wife. They really dislike this post from June 12, so they are demanding retractions and 5 million rubles each.
Interestingly, the subject of the lawsuit is a post about the pathetic Anti-Maidan rally in Novosibirsk, rather than a post about the undeclared enormous house of the Anti-Maidan leader on Rublyovka (an elite residential area outside Moscow), which he clearly could not have bought on his official income. But we all understand perfectly well that this is what Sablin really dislikes, and this is what we’ll be talking about.
One more funny detail: Sablin’s lawyer is this guy named Shota Gorgadze. He does small-time errand work for United Russia and various crooks like Vladimir Solovyov, but he’s still my favorite lawyer in Russia—because it was thanks to him that the slogan “United Russia is the party of crooks and thieves” was born.
After all, it really caught on with the public only after Gorgadze, trying to curry favor, announced that he was suing me over that phrase. Later his superiors smacked him down and it never made it to court, but by then it was too late.
So, obviously, the Lyublino District Court even has a special judge for this—basically a “Navalny claim-approver”—but sure, let’s litigate. It’ll be fun.
