Chaika kept hoping that the information from our investigation would not spread widely and would sink into the “radical opposition corner of the internet.” Then he could have simply stayed silent. That did not work out; he had to respond, but all we heard was:
Well, the usual story. Paid slander everywhere, with Obama and Erdoğan as the supposed masterminds.
Could you at least point out where the lie is?
Is that not Artyom Chaika and Olga Lopatina at the opening of the Greek hotel?
Are Lopatina’s and Chaika’s names not listed in public Greek registries?
Do the founding documents not place the names of prosecutors’ wives Lopatina and Staroverova alongside the surnames Tsapok and Tsepovyaz?
Just yesterday, Lopatina hinted that the documents were forged, and she was thoroughly disproven—first by Vedomosti, then by us, and then Novaya Gazeta finished the job with a full extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL).
Did the director of the Lena River Shipping Company not “hang himself” in a garage two days after publicly accusing Artyom Chaika of trying to seize the company?
And did forensic experts not determine that the marks on the body pointed to murder rather than suicide?
Show us even one fact from our investigation that has not been proven and can be refuted.
You know what, we normally never do this, even though officials are constantly and brazenly lying about the work of the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation), but in this case we can probably make an exception.
Otherwise, we will never get the promised “I will soon name who is behind this and what is really going on.” We will add a civil case to the criminal investigation against Chaika and the entire mafia network. The ACF and the authors of the investigation will sue Russian Prosecutor General Yury Ya. Chaika to defend their honor, dignity, and business reputation.
We will invite him and ask him to point out exactly where, in our investigation, there is a “hit job” or anything of a “knowingly false nature.” Let him explain who paid the “large sums of money.”
And, of course, Yury Ya. Chaika will have an excellent opportunity to “say who is behind this and what is really going on.”
