While the Russian government cheerfully reports that in 2015 it did not make a single major mistake, and that the economy has “become more stable than a year ago,” truck drivers protesting against the Platon road toll system are continuing their action on the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road). No, they did not disperse for the New Year holidays.
In case anyone missed it over the holidays: on the night of January 8, a Platon office in Kemerovo was set on fire with a Molotov cocktail. Apparently, it was an action in support of the stable government.
And let me remind you about our campaign to raise the political cost of Platon for those who introduced it—Putin, the government, and United Russia. We want to place 100,000 stickers with the appropriate message on trucks across the country.
We are currently holding a contest for the best design. Here are the technical requirements, content guidelines, and prizes.
Please send your submissions to design@fbk.info by January 15 inclusive.
After that, ACF’s design department will compile a shortlist of the 10 best entries, and next week we will publish them in a post for voting so that you can choose the winner yourselves.
We have already received more than 150 emails. If anyone has not yet received a reply, don’t worry—we will definitely respond to everyone within the next two days.
Update:
Many people are asking why the contest deadline here is January 15, when the first post said the 10th. We decided to extend the contest by five days because of the holidays, especially since people are still sending us designs.
