Tomorrow, the court will hear the case on declaring the concession agreement with Rotenberg ("Platon," Russia’s truck toll collection system) null and void.

The whole thing has a rather amusing title: Sole Proprietor Navalny and Sole Proprietor Zhdanov (a lawyer for the Anti-Corruption Foundation, ACF) versus RT Invest Transport Systems LLC and the Federal Road Agency, Rosavtodor.

The essence of the case is simple: without any competitive tender and by government order, the operator of the Platon system became a specially created and previously unknown company, RT Invest Transport Systems LLC, owned by the younger Rotenberg.

And why Rotenberg? Why not Sole Proprietor Navalny? Why not Sole Proprietor Zhdanov? Why not one of the hundreds of entrepreneurs who actually understand logistics?

We will seek to have the concession agreement for the Platon system declared null and void because, first, it was concluded without any tender, in violation of legal requirements not only for concession agreements but also for the protection of competition; and second, because provisions of federal law were violated in the allocation of responsibility for paying the concession fee.

As for our judicial system, we obviously have no illusions. But it is important for us to draw attention once again to just how unlawfully the Platon agreement was concluded. The court and Rosavtodor will have to squirm in a situation where the law is entirely on our side.

I should also note that we are continuing our media campaign against Platon. We are now summing up the results of the vote for the best sticker design for truck drivers.

A total of 10,104 people voted in 24 hours, and the distribution was interesting: there was no real consensus. For example, the design that took first place received only 15%, second place got 13%, and third place 9%.

Nevertheless, the winners have been decided:

1st place and a prize of 50,000 rubles (about 500 euros / 540 US dollars):

Alexander, a student from Moscow

2nd place and a prize of 30,000 rubles (about 300 euros / 325 US dollars):

Anatoly Kravchenko

3rd place and a prize of 20,000 rubles (about 200 euros / 215 US dollars):

Anatoly Kravchenko

Congratulations to the winners! We have already contacted them, and soon we will start handing out the prizes.

Once again, thank you to everyone who took part in the contest.

We are now planning to print the first small batch for the truck drivers who are still camped out at the parking lot in Khimki and waiting for the stickers so they can distribute them across the regions.
