What a great idea they’ve organized in London: bus tours of Russian billionaires’ homes. So far, there have been two, with about 40 people taking part in each. The guides were well-known journalists and anti-corruption investigators from Russia and the UK. They talked about Russian owners of London real estate and named the prices of the homes they own.

So far, they’ve covered west and northwest London. But there are still many other areas where these tours could be held — last year, Transparency International published a study saying that more than 36,000 London homes are owned by offshore companies. In Westminster (central London), the owners of one in ten homes are unknown, and in the neighboring district — the City of London — the owners of 4.5% of properties are unknown.

The organizers plan to hold a similar tour in New York in April. Roman Borisovich, one of the tour organizers and the central figure in the film From Russia with Cash, dreams of running similar tours in Miami, Beverly Hills, and on the French Riviera.

Vladimir Ashurkov from the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) also helped organize the tour:

As usual, only open-source information was used to prepare these tours.
