In Klin, the Immortal Regiment march was led through the streets by members of the prosecutors’ mafia. This is not a figure of speech. All of these individuals were implicated in the case of the “prosecutors who protected illegal casinos.”
The case had been pursued all the way since 2010; many of the crooks in blue uniforms were removed from their posts, and some went on the run. Then Prosecutor General Chaika ultimately succeeded in getting the case closed, the fugitive prosecutors returned, pinned on St. George ribbons (a Russian military remembrance symbol), and took the lead of the Immortal Regiment march.
