I’m not just unsurprised — I was certain it couldn’t be any other way.
And in our film about the business dealings of Prosecutor General Chaika’s family, I answer in advance the question of whether Chaika will remain prosecutor general (from 41:50): the country’s top leadership, of course, knows what is going on, and there is such a thick file of compromising material on Yuri Yakovlevich Chaika that he is completely controllable. He does what he is told — that is exactly why he is needed.
What other kind of prosecutor general would a regime built on corruption need? What kind of prosecutor general does a president need when he is funneling $2 billion into offshore accounts?
They need a prosecutor general who is a thief, stained from head to toe. Better yet, a murderer too. And most importantly, everyone around him must know that he is a thief and a murderer. In this interview, an ordinary prosecutor’s office employee says: everyone here knows Navalny’s investigation is true. Try a little experiment: go up to any prosecutor’s office employee you know and ask about our investigation. He’ll tell you: I’ve read it, it’s all true, everyone knows. For a normal state, this would mean the collapse of the legal system. For Russia today: very good, exactly as it should be.
This guarantees Putin the main quality in demand in the country right now: loyalty. Chaika knows that he, his entire family, and all his deputies could be sent to prison at any moment for 20 years (entirely justifiably!). And he will do anything to earn mercy and safety. He will fabricate any criminal case, help rig any election, shut down NGOs, parties, and newspapers — because he himself is compromised.
And because Chaika understands the rules of the game, there is a reward too — from the age of 24, his dear son has been “winning” state contracts worth hundreds of billions of rubles.
That’s how this government works.
We have now received information from various sources that the attack on the ACF in Anapa was also organized at the request of Prosecutor General Chaika and his son Artyom. The prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai, Korzhinek, protector of the Tsapok gang, can arrange something like this without any problem with a couple of phone calls and a couple of hints.
I have no doubt about this information — it came from people who know what they are talking about. Today we are filing an official complaint and demanding that Yuri Chaika, Artyom Chaika, and Leonid Korzhinek be investigated for involvement in the attack. If we know, then everyone else knows too; Putin knows. Has this harmed Chaika? Of course not! How could such a useful and courageous act — organizing an attack on a group of people with backpacks — possibly harm anyone?
Yuri Yakovlevich Chaika — a corrupt official, the head of a mafia group, and a billionaire — is the best possible prosecutor general for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
Ties to the Tsapok gang are a badge of honor and an achievement, not compromising material at all. Reappointment is inevitable.
Let them reappoint him — each of the 5 million viewers of our film will draw their own small conclusion.
And the best personal response you can give to Chaika’s reappointment is simply to post this link on your social networks: https://chaika.navalny.com/
