The fact that senior officials of Russia’s Investigative Committee took bribes from the leader of Russia’s criminal underworld, Zakhar Kalashov, a.k.a. Shakro Molodoy.
Among these Investigative Committee officials, one is even a major general and heads its most important regional branch—the Moscow one—while the other runs the security service of the entire federal Investigative Committee.
It’s not as if we had much faith in the honesty of Investigative Committee officers, but this is too much.
Many were under the illusion that within the Investigative Committee there were the “bad political enforcers” and the “honest investigators” who fought real organized crime. Well, they are fighting... on the same side.
After this, the entire Investigative Committee should be disbanded and thoroughly purged. Who there can be trusted now?
