If you're so eager to go vote, here's a candidate worth going to the polling station for.
Meet him—if you don't already know him: Dmitry Sukharev, head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (ACF) in St. Petersburg.
He has done—and continues to do—a lot of important investigations that you've most likely heard about and read about on my blog. For example, there's an entire series of investigations into Serdyukov, one about National Guard chief Zolotov, and another about the mafia that took over an entire district of St. Petersburg.
Dmitry is now running in the elections to St. Petersburg's Legislative Assembly. He is standing for Yabloko (a liberal opposition party) in single-member District No. 8, "Rzhevka-Porokhovye" (in the city's Krasnogvardeysky District). He also managed to reach an agreement with the Party of Growth and PARNAS so that they would not nominate anyone in this area. That means the opposition won't be splitting the vote here, and the fight will be solely against the main rival: United Russia.
Dmitry Sukharev has lived in this district for many years. It was here that local residents, by joining forces, stopped developers from building over the area's only park—Malinovka.
Winning in a single-member district is incredibly difficult, but possible. To do it, he needs resources—people and money for the campaign. His team's main strategy is to reach every voter in the district.
Help him.
