There is currently a major debate in Europe over the ban on the "burkini" on French beaches. Given the Russian state's open encouragement of religious fundamentalism and uncontrolled migration, this discussion will become increasingly relevant here as well. Here is an excellent article. This is one of those cases where I can say: I agree with every single word.

And I would add this: Kazan and Ufa, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan — these are examples of what a normal Muslim society looks like, rather than a medieval and barbaric one.

Islam is the predominant religion, but you do not see paranjas (full-body veils) or burqas in the streets. And that is excellent — exactly as it should be.

The Middle East should take the Volga region as its model, not the other way around.
