They’re just utterly rotten people. Truly driven mad by power, by total impunity, by having the courts and police at their disposal, by newspapers that obey them.
How can anyone still vote for these bastards?
Take Nikolai Merkushkin, the governor of Samara Region. He recently arrived there from Mordovia, where for many years he delivered 97% in every election, turning the republic into a barracks state. Now he has been moved to Samara so he can deliver the same “Mordovian percentage” there, and since people there aren’t used to that sort of thing, the governor is explaining to them how wrong they are.
Recently there was the now-famous “I’m not going to pay the wage arrears; it was the American ambassador who talked you into asking for that,” and yesterday there was this, at a meeting with residents at the Samara Philharmonic:

Do you understand? Either you give them 97%, or it’s your own fault that the authorities do nothing for you.
This scum doesn’t just think that everyone around them owes them something and should be grateful that they deigned to become governors, deputies, and employees of state corporations — they say it out loud. Right to our faces.
Anyone who votes for United Russia after this is an idiot.
