Igor Ivanovich Sechin, the head of the state-owned company Rosneft, has chosen a cunning strategy against us.

When I say “us,” I mean everyone who believes that Russian citizens have the right to know the salaries of executives at state-owned companies and about their lifestyles when those lifestyles go far beyond normal bounds (and Sechin’s definitely does, oh yes).

So, in response to those defending their right to obtain and share information, old man Sechin has unleashed the court machine under his control. He has successfully sued everyone who wrote about his salary, yacht, and house.

The house story was especially extraordinary—the court ordered the physical destruction of the entire print run of the Vedomosti issue containing that article.

I believe this cannot be tolerated, and that this state businessman should be introduced to the “Streisand effect,” to which the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) would like to make its modest contribution with this video.

For it, we even filmed “that very house,” so you can get a better look at it.
