This is the first promotional post I’ve ever written. True, I’m not getting paid for it either, since I’m advertising myself.
I’d like to take on a few more cases at the European Court of Human Rights, so I’m open to new clients.
As you know, I’ve been deeply involved with cases before the European Court for the past five years—partly out of necessity, partly by choice. Both as an applicant myself and as a representative of other applicants.
If you made a list of Russian citizens with ECtHR judgments issued or applications communicated in their cases, I would definitely be in the top five and might even be a contender for first place.
And it’s not at all because the ECtHR is somehow especially fond of me. It’s simply that criminal and administrative cases are constantly being fabricated against me, and my lawyers and I make sure to take them all the way to the ECtHR.
And I always urge everyone to do the same. For example, my cellmates from one of my arrests made it all the way to the court; I’m representing them, and we have a strong chance of winning and receiving compensation.
In the ECtHR, my legal team and I won the “Kirovles case”.
The application concerning the “Yves Rocher case” and the unlawful house arrest has been communicated, and it has been given priority.
Several of my applications have been communicated concerning various detentions and unlawful arrests.
And so on, and so on.
Details on all of my ECtHR applications can be found in the court’s official case-law database, http://hudoc.echr.coe.int (enter navalny and navalnyy in the full-text search).
So far—knock on wood—not a single case has been lost.
In short, the ECtHR has long since become another one of my legal specialties, which means I can help you too if your rights have been violated and you have no hope left in the Russian court system.
I was stripped of my attorney status after my first conviction (which the ECtHR later found unlawful), but that doesn’t hinder me in any way. You do not need attorney status to represent someone before the ECtHR. I registered as a sole proprietor providing legal services, and I’m doing just fine.
