general political reliability (after all, he is a member of United Russia, the ruling party),
has uttered not a word about Nizhny Novgorod mayor Karnilin and his $2 million apartments in Miami.
For some reason, the only one looking into the mayor is the TV program “Central Television” (from 34:30):

For our part, we have filed all the necessary complaints and continue to demand Karnilin’s removal from office.
We find his explanations about the divorce unconvincing. And his story that “I earned $2 million at a private company” is simply not credible. According to his 2015 disclosure, his income was 4,752,889.98 rubles. In 2014, his income was 788,500 rubles.
The only place that $2 million could have come from is the same place Russian officials usually get $2 million from.
