I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time at the way officials wriggled out of an awkward situation. The FSB, the Border Service, and the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office win our prize for ingenuity.
Remember the story about the FSB general’s dacha on the state border?

At the time, we filed complaints, and here our lawyers explain the response that came back.
The FSB and the Border Service did not remove the dacha located beyond the fence and the border control strip. They removed... the border.
Yes, really.
They officially informed ACF (the Anti-Corruption Foundation) that this electrified fence, covered with cameras, with “Mines” signs and a border harrow in front of it, has absolutely nothing to do with the border.
It is simply a fence meant to keep wild animals enclosed.
Elegant, you have to admit.
So now all local residents, who know perfectly well that this is in fact a border fence, have every right to go inside the perimeter to pick mushrooms and berries, based on that response.
The main thing is to watch out for the large number of wild animals this fence was supposedly installed to contain.
