Today I received quite a lot of questions about Interfax’s report featuring fresh polling data.
It says that 10% of voters are ready to vote for me, which is three times less than in 2011. The same poll found that 53% of citizens do not know me at all.
So people are asking me: what do you think about that?
Well, whenever I try to think about this Interfax report, I immediately start thinking about a similar story from 2013:
At the end of July, all pollsters were reporting that my electoral rating ahead of the election was 9%.
A month and a half later, it came out to 27.5% according to the official figures—and in reality, it was higher.
So 10% from pollsters more than a year before the election suits me just fine. That is a lot.
And the 53% who do not know me at all—that is actually excellent. It is the classic dilemma of a glass of water: is it half empty or half full?
For me, it is definitely half full. For years, people in this country have been hammered by television with the message that I am a timber thief, a repeat offender, an organizer of riots, and an agent of every Western intelligence service.
And half of them still know nothing about me. That is exactly why we are running a real election campaign. We are opening campaign offices in 77 cities. I travel around and speak to volunteers, and I am fully prepared to debate even the most extreme representatives of the “brainwashed” camp.
That is exactly how we will win a majority among those who do not know about me and our platform. That is exactly how we will turn 10% support among those who do know into 60%.
We will keep working, and your help here is the most important thing. Putin has television, and as reported, he will rely on state-owned companies.
I have the truth, and I would like to rely on you.
Join us—become a campaign volunteer. As of today, there are already 29,004 of them across the country, and you will be in good company.
