Navalny promised to file an application with the ECHR (European Court of Human Rights) on behalf of anyone detained at yesterday’s rallies. Although he will spend the next 15 days in administrative detention, ACF’s legal team remains operational and guarantees assistance to anyone affected in any Russian city where the rallies took place.

It does not matter whether you were detained for 5 minutes and released without a report, held for three hours in a police van, taken to a police station, then served with a court summons, or sentenced to 15 days of detention. All of these actions must be appealed.

To file an application with the ECHR, you must first follow a strict legal procedure in the Russian courts. You need to go through two levels of court: if your claim is rejected at the first level, you must file an appeal. If you do not appeal, we will not be able to help you with an application to the ECHR.

If you need help with filing a claim in the court of first instance, contact ACF’s legal team by phone at 88003330295 and send all documents related to your detention to 26.03@navalny2018.org.

If you need help filing an appeal, the procedure is the same: contact our lawyers by phone at 88003330295 and send all the documents you have to 26.03@navalny2018.org.

It is important to remember that you can file an appeal within 10 days of the first-instance court’s decision, so do not delay—contact us as soon as possible.

The 10-day deadline for filing an appeal also applies to those in administrative detention. If you are a relative of someone detained for 15 days, contact us at the same phone number.

Proceedings before the European Court take a long time, usually several years. At the same time, many of those detained will have to pay their fines right away. We are offering to help raise money to reimburse these fines. ACF has opened a separate Yandex.Money wallet in the name of the Foundation’s director, Roman Rubanov, to help those who have been fined: 410011790053534

Here is how it works. After you have gone through the second-instance court with the help of our lawyers, you pay the fine, send us the receipt, and the amount of the fine will be reimbursed to you from the e-wallet.

Our legal team is accepting requests starting today (10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Moscow time). If you suffered from unlawful police actions at the rally, contact us.
