So many people are asking, “How’s your eye?” and “What’s happening with the investigation?” that I’ll answer everyone at once.

Many thanks to everyone who is worried, sympathetic, or recommending a good doctor. I’m currently being treated by one of Moscow’s best ophthalmologists, so that part is under control.

Unfortunately, the eye itself is not doing so well. The doctor believes they splashed my face with zelyonka (a bright green antiseptic solution common in Russia) mixed with something else, because plain zelyonka alone cannot burn an eye this badly. I’m inclined to agree with her: in Barnaul they sprayed zelyonka directly into my eyes from a rubber bulb syringe—it burned and stung badly, but after 10 minutes I could see normally, my eyes didn’t swell up, the whites stayed white, and so on.

I’m now on my third day of putting drops in my eye every 15 minutes, and my second day of injections, and we’re fighting to keep the eye clear. Well, if that doesn’t work out—and unfortunately that is a possibility—then Russia will have a president with a stylish white eye.

Something like this, but in one eye and without the glow (sadly):

It’s unpleasant, of course, but there’s nothing to be done. This is Russia in 2017, and instead of election debates, they just keep splashing some caustic filth in your face.

The methods of political struggle used by old man Putin and his administration are such that by election day I may well end up looking something like this:

Or like this:

After all, I’ve always said that my favorite film is *Terminator 2*, so really it’s all my own fault. Peskov will say I was subconsciously striving for this myself.

Of course, there will be no investigation. They still haven’t even opened a criminal case. No one has even interviewed me, even though a statement was filed immediately.

I do not doubt for a second—and my confidence is based on facts—that the attack was organized by the Presidential Administration. Yes, the ones physically running around with cups of *zelyonka* are various NOD activists (members of the pro-Kremlin “National Liberation Movement”), but they constantly have precise information about my movements, hotels, tickets, departures, and arrivals. Where I’m going in, where I’m coming out. It is obvious that the security services are supplying them with database information and surveillance data. Those same services also guarantee impunity, “broken cameras,” and the police’s unwillingness to investigate.

It is obvious what such an investigation would establish: the perpetrators were activists from an organization headed by a United Russia deputy. That organization’s office is located opposite the Presidential Administration. The FSB provided them with the data on the Presidential Administration’s instructions. The Presidential Administration provides the funding. The police and the Investigative Committee did not investigate on the Presidential Administration’s orders.

Does anyone need results like that? That is why there will be nothing here either, just as there was nothing after the attack on the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) in Anapa, which I am sure was orchestrated by Chaika. If it really had been just “local hooligans,” as the pro-Kremlin media shouted, then what was stopping them from finding them and at least bringing administrative charges?

But they cannot be found, because then too much would no longer be possible to hide. The same applies here.

In the beautiful Russia of the future, throwing *zelyonka*, acid, and other filth at people will be forbidden. The police will investigate such cases, and those responsible will go to prison. Officials accused of corruption will answer society’s questions. And if, instead of answering, any of them gets it into his head to intimidate critics and splash them with *zelyonka*, then for that they’ll be crushed completely.

On June 12, Russia Day, we will all definitely take to the streets, because we want to turn Russia into a normal country, free of this lying, vile pack of thieves that has been in power for 17 years.
