What a great day it was today.
First, in Mordovia, they showed us how things are done locally (though we expected nothing else — it’s not for nothing that they don’t just stuff ballots here during elections, they outright manufacture 99% results). There were inspections outside the hotel and about 30 police officers.
Then they leaned on every venue where we might have met with volunteers (the campaign office can’t fit everyone), and the last one couldn’t withstand the pressure and canceled our agreement the night before.
So we did something simple. One supporter had a plot of land outside Saransk. Literally a field and the edge of a forest. We got a bus and a tent and took the volunteers there.
It all went really well — the only thing missing was some shashlik (grilled meat skewers).
Since we were out in a field, I tried to look the part:
And just now we opened campaign office No. 33 — Ulyanovsk.
One of the best meetings in terms of atmosphere. Lots of volunteers, interesting questions, and a great conversation.
Awesome. Thank you all so much.
