There is quite a considerable distance between Izhevsk and Stavropol. And yet we can see how everything is connected by astonishing threads.
Today, 950 people came to a meeting with volunteers in Izhevsk! It was a wonderful, excellent gathering. It was especially striking to see how sharply it contrasted with the couple of dozen local college students herded into an “anti-Maidan rally” (“Maidan” refers to the pro-European protest movement in Ukraine).
And this was not even a fully public meeting — invitations were emailed only to those who had registered on the website.
Yesterday there was also a huge meeting in Perm.
And that is exactly why, last night, a bottle with an incendiary mixture was thrown at our Stavropol campaign office. Fortunately, it did not ignite, but an “investigative team” immediately arrived at the scene, declaring that they were about to “inspect the crime scene.”
Guess what they started doing as part of this “inspection”?
That’s right: seizing the campaign office’s laptops and other equipment.
This is the brutish rule of genuine bandits and thieves — rotten with lies and terribly cowardly.
They see how many people across the country are joining us, and this is the kind of filth they resort to.
Right now, our team preparing the rally in Moscow has been turned down by yet another sound contractor. Once again, we reach an agreement, and once again they call us an hour later: sorry, guys, offer any amount of money you want, but we’re backing out. Moscow City Hall is calling them directly and threatening them. They are saying it openly: we approved their rally, but we will not let them have sound equipment or video screens.
Yes, in one sense it is wonderful — no matter how much they puff themselves up, we can see that they are shaking in their boots.
But really — how can anyone tolerate this at all? We are paying salaries to parasites, thieves, and criminals who for some reason call themselves the “authorities.”
Be there. Be there. Be there. Come to the rally on June 12 in your city.
Moscow: 2:00 p.m., Sakharov Avenue, entrance from Komsomolskaya metro station. For now, that is the address. But the main thing to remember is this: on June 12, we will gather in the streets no matter what.
