Every time we launch a fundraising campaign or an accountability-and-appeal video like yesterday’s, we get lots of messages: tell us how the fundraising is going, share your experience.
We have no secrets. In fact, we actively encourage everyone around us to try raising money online.
The video was released yesterday at 5:33 p.m. So far, 20 hours have passed.

We have about 2,500 payments. “About” because donations come in through different platforms, so it’s impossible to keep exact real-time statistics. Roughly 60% of payments come through Sberbank, 20% through PayPal, and 10% through Alfa-Bank and Bitcoin.
So far, the video has raised about 2 million rubles.
The average donation is 800 rubles, and the median is 500.
That’s good. For comparison, our one-day record was on March 26: 4.5 million rubles. But that followed an attack on our office and the seizure of all our equipment—extraordinary circumstances.
Right now, we need to raise 10 million rubles. The upcoming expenses are: salaries including payroll taxes (Russia’s payroll taxes are awful, truly awful) at about 9 million, and rent across the country at about 3 million. For more details, see the latest financial report.
I’m sure we’ll raise it, but we need a small contribution from each of you. Go there right now and take part in this common cause.
If anyone has questions about fundraising, spending, or wants to make use of our experience, we’d be happy to help—Leonid Volkov hosts a weekly program about the work of the campaign headquarters, where he explains everything in detail.
