My brother isn’t wasting time in prison. Like a true criminal mastermind, even from his cell he’s building ties with accomplices on the outside and spreading his socially harmful ideas.
They’re launching a whole project now: prison tattoos from Russia.
TRAP — Tattoos from Russian Prison Project hashtag: #got_чиф (this is important:)
How it works: Oleg creates tattoo designs, which are displayed in the gallery on the website http://gotchif.com/; anyone who wants to get one tattooed is free to do so; if they need to find a tattoo artist, they can use the map — the project already has partners (more than 100 as of now) in Russia and many other countries (22 countries so far, including Australia, Venezuela, and Peru) who are ready to tattoo Oleg’s designs (on their own terms). In the next few days, they’ll add their profiles to the map http://gotchif.com/ru/map
The project is open to everyone: anyone can get these tattoos, and any tattoo artist can create a profile on the site http://gotchif.com/ru/map/add
Through the website, you can send Oleg a request for a custom design http://gotchif.com/ru/tatoo/request
People are encouraged to post their finished tattoos on social media with the hashtag #got_чиф
In addition to the website, the project has an Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/got_chif/ and a VK public page https://vk.com/got_chif.
The project is aimed at both Russian-speaking and international audiences. The site is available in two versions — Russian http://gotchif.com/ru and English http://gotchif.com/en
The essence of the project: it is half art project (a rethinking and reinvention of prison tattooing as an art form), half humanitarian project (tattoos as reportage from hell / tattoos as a symbol of freedom, humanity, and human solidarity).
Here is Oleg’s own post about the project.
