“Don’t try to leave Omsk” is a popular local internet meme. It emerged after a well-known photo of a train car with the route sign Omsk–Omsk.
Among Russian politicians, it is commonly believed that this is a difficult city and a very hard one to get moving. But I would put it this way: you have to do the work, and people will support you.
A fantastic rally and a very warm welcome. It’s my first time here, and it was incredibly приятно.
So the thought of leaving Omsk would never even have crossed my mind if I didn’t have to keep traveling. A great city.
