From every city where I’m scheduled to meet supporters, we’re hearing about all sorts of tricks the authorities are preparing to reduce turnout at the rally.

The large rallies held in Murmansk, Yekaterinburg, and Omsk have enraged the Kremlin, and old man Sardelenych gave instructions to handle the matter as creatively as possible.

Usually, the method is simple: they schedule other rallies or some kind of concerts for the exact same day and time.

But in the Novosibirsk region they came up with an absolutely brilliant solution (that’s what a truly advanced city looks like). They win first prize.

My meeting there is on September 22 at 6:00 p.m.

And guess what’s happening in Novosibirsk on September 22 at 6:00 p.m.?

A SCREENING OF THE FILM *MATILDA*!!!

A month early (a whole month!!!) before its nationwide release in Russia. So it turns out that this nationwide premiere will actually take place in Novosibirsk.

And this was announced by none other than the head of the Novosibirsk mayor’s office cultural department.

That’s really something.

The Luxor cinema website easily shows that this is the only screening. There are no others. None the next day either. Just September 22 at 6:00 p.m., right during my speech.

It’s just wonderful. I love watching our election campaign make petty officials all across the country squirm—from the Kremlin to regional administrations.
