And this is no longer just me saying it—the Council of Europe is saying it. And it is saying so not because it wants to make a political statement, but because this is a formal procedure: the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe supervises the implementation of European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) judgments.

As part of this procedure, they reviewed the case, examined the documents, and took explanations from both me and the Russian government, after which they ruled: the court’s judgment has not been implemented. Accordingly, the sentence is unlawful. Accordingly, I have been unlawfully deprived of my voting rights and must be allowed to run in the election.

Russia’s Justice Ministry is already in hysterics. Which is hardly surprising—for them, a fair court is the most terrible and hateful thing in the world.
