Today we once again got the answer to the question of why the Kremlin is so afraid of our meetings in the regions. The city of Orenburg gave us that answer.

Noon. The outskirts of the city. Yesterday there was all that commotion over the detention, and we even sent out a mailing across Orenburg saying the meeting was canceled and that I would not be coming (then we had to send a second message). The authorities resorted to unprecedented tricks and organized a whole bunch of events designed to draw people away from the rally — including, of all things, a workshop on making protective amulets (!). And people still came, so go ahead and show me how United Russia gathers more people here.

The comfortable little world built on the political rule that “the opposition has no support in the regions” is collapsing. The Kremlin is suffering. Let it suffer.

Thank you very much to everyone who came. It was a great meeting.

We move on. Tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in Teryokhin Square in Arkhangelsk.
