A building in central Izhevsk basically told the authorities to get lost — the local, regional, and federal authorities alike.
The homeowners held a meeting and voted unanimously: to let Navalny use the area around their building for a meeting with voters.
Here they are, these wonderful people. Afterwards, they invited me in for tea and pirozhki (stuffed buns).
Judging by how hard they came after them, they enraged not only the newly elected head of the republic, but the Kremlin too. They do not want a precedent like this.
Judge for yourself: two days ago, an apartment building exploded in the city. And what is the head of the republic’s housing inspectorate doing? The very official chiefly responsible for the safety of residential buildings. He is not inspecting homes for gas leaks and so on. The day after the explosion, where does the housing inspectorate carry out an unscheduled inspection? That’s right — in this very building.

And of course no one is going to come to an opposition rally, right.
Now tell that to Izhevsk:
A huge thank-you to everyone who came.
Special thanks to that rebellious and wonderful building.
Izhevsk is wonderful, and it is with us.
Tomorrow — Smolensk. Things are lively there too: they have blocked off virtually every road so that no one can reach the rally site. But come anyway.
And wherever you live, join in:
