In Perm, officials led by the “technocrat governor” Reshetnikov bent over backwards to stop me from holding a meeting with voters.
And I really needed to come to Perm—it’s a crucial city with democratic traditions. We know for sure that no one here actually likes the United Russia gang.
Fortunately, just like in Izhevsk, we found an apartment building here whose residents said: this is our adjoining property, and we can lease it to whomever we want. We’ll lease it to Navalny.
Thanks to them, the meeting was able to happen:
It was really great.
Well, Perm is always great—I’ve been here many times. That’s exactly why the authorities try not to let me come here: they know I have support.
This was a first for me: the prosecutor’s office met me right at the airplane stairs to read out their little paper saying I’m an extremist.
We’re already holding these meetings in genuinely wintry, freezing weather. Well, nothing you can do—it’s Mother Russia.
The cowards and nobodies in the local administration ordered our campaign office coordinator, Natalya Vavilova, detained right after the meeting. They’re taking revenge on us because she draws more people than they ever could. Our lawyer is handling Natasha’s case.
Huge thanks to everyone who came. You’re the best, and this country stands because of you.
Tomorrow will be a tough day: first Vladimir (at 12:00), then Nizhny Novgorod (at 17:00). In both cities, the local crooks gave us venues that are very far out of the way (especially in Nizhny)—they want fewer people to show up. But come anyway, and we’ll talk.
P.S. You absolutely, absolutely must listen to what they’re saying to students at Vladimir State University. A university! That means this is how they talk even to adults.
