We’re reporting on the work of the “mutual aid fund” set up to pay unlawful fines issued for taking part in rallies.

As you may remember, ACF director Roman Rubanov announced a fundraiser to cover fines after the March 26 rallies. The same initiative was later extended to the rallies on June 12 and October 7. More than eight months have passed since the first protest, a tremendous amount of work has been done, and we truly have a lot to report.

1,324 people received legal assistance through the ACF and campaign headquarters hotline. Many of them are still receiving advice on preparing complaints for the ECHR (European Court of Human Rights). This work has not stopped for a single day and may well become one of the largest human rights projects ever carried out in Russia. If combined with what Agora and Memorial are doing in relation to these same rallies, it would certainly be the largest.

322 people asked for help paying their fines. Literally from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, without exaggeration. Together, we raised the money and solved the problem for 232 of them, and we’re very proud of that. You’ll agree that 10,000–20,000 rubles is a significant amount for the household budget of the overwhelming majority of Russians.

5,369 people made donations. In total, we raised 3,192,524 rubles. The average donation was 576 rubles. The largest donation was 15,000 rubles (thank you), and the smallest was 1 kopek (thank you too).

Right now, there are still 90 people with 1,332,000 rubles in unpaid fines.

There’s a saying that debts should be settled before the end of the year. So let’s help pay off the remaining fines together. Join in! It really matters. No one is going to help us except ourselves. And if you yourself get fined simply for refusing to give up your right to walk down the streets of your own city, you can confidently turn to this same “mutual aid fund.” Other people will chip in 500 rubles at a time to help you.

On the December 14 broadcast of “Navalny at 20:18”, I also raised money for fines — we collected about 200,000 rubles.
