People ask: do you only write about elections, and what about the fight against corruption?

My answer: regardless of any elections, the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) is successfully doing its work—the work you support.

Right now, we are devoting a great deal of time to uncovering cartels and fighting them. Monopolization and cartels are one of the main pillars of “Putinomics”; they have become the most important and favored tools of the Russian corrupt official.

Here is a report video about this work from the Anti-Cartel Lyubitron:

Over the past year, the ACF analyzed more than 3,000 auctions with a total value of over 52 billion rubles. As a result, our lawyers filed 18 complaints with the FAS (Federal Antimonopoly Service) concerning cartels. So far, 11 cases have already been opened (in the video we mention 9, because just the other day two more were opened—by the St. Petersburg regional office of the FAS and the Moscow regional office of the FAS). In 3 of them, the FAS has already issued decisions; the rest are still under review.

The cases were handled by ACF lawyers Lyubov Sobol and Valery Zolotukhin.

A table listing all the cartels and links to the relevant auctions is available here.

So we have not paused our anti-corruption work for even a minute. Many thanks to everyone who makes the ACF’s work possible. Please go here and support us by signing up for a regular monthly donation. We make every kopek count.
