- The issue is not firing Peskov’s wife, but putting him himself on trial.

Here is what I wrote in response to everyone who sent congratulations to the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) over the dismissal of Solotsinskaya, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo (Russia’s federal agency for international humanitarian cooperation) in France.

Media outlets reported that the former wife of presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov had been dismissed from her post as head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Paris. The reason was that Solotsinskaya owned an undeclared foreign company, which we revealed in our investigation into Ekaterina’s luxury apartment in Paris.

The dismissal is a good thing—it should have happened. But the main question is: where did the money come from?

Peskov’s former wife was fired over the French company. But that company owns an apartment in Paris worth 125 million rubles (about $1.3 million). That is what we really need to talk about.

And for us, the most important thing in this story is the money. Because I am convinced that this is money Peskov himself received as bribes. There can be no other source.
